The Summary
Review of Brian Eno: Apollo: Atmospheres and Soundtracks
Here’s our review of our pick for October 2021, Apollo: Atmospheres and Soundtracks by Brian Eno, Daniel Lanois and Roger Eno, which is the ninth solo studio by British Eno and was released in 1983. It was a collaboration with his brother and Canadian Daniel Lanois. Have a listen to hear what we thought of it.
A few things you will find out in this episode are:
• Eno wanted to create an album that would emulate the emotions of being in space and travelling to the moon. He thought the news reporting of the moon landing missions, was too focused on sensationalism of the event, rather than appreciating where our fellow humans were in space.
• This album was recorded in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada.
• This album was produced as a soundtrack to a film that was put together of all the moon mission footage that was created from 1969 – 1972.
